Matthew & Nicola tie the knot...
I am going to start off by saying that this is the very first time (and the last) that I will have the honour of writing a blog of this nature. On the 21st November 2015 my beautiful sister Nicola & new brother in-law Matthew tied the knot at Rain Farm Game Lodge situated 20 minutes inland from Ballito.
The Story..
Matthew & Nicola met back in 2008 whilst in the UK. The story goes that Nicola was sitting at her desk one fine morning and happened look out the window and see a gentleman repairing the aircon unit (needless to say, according to Matthew the aircon unit wasn't even broken... but he "fixed" it anyway) Nicola, smiled as she gazed out the window at this fine young man. Matthew happened to look around and see Nicola smiling at him but continued to work on the "broken" aircon unit. He turned around a few minutes later and again.. there she was gazing out the window in the direction of who is now well known as "The Aircon Guy"
On the 24th October 2008, Nicola went to a local UK Pub and who did she see?? Yes.. "The Aircon Guy". That night they kissed for the first first time and a few days later Matthew & Nicola went on their first date together. In May 2009 Matthew & Nicola officially got together and little did they know what beautiful journey was planned for them.
Matthew decided to pop the question whilst they were away on holiday in America in August 2014 & thats where all the planning begun. In the interim whilst planning their Wedding, they also had lots more to deal with.. Matthew & Nicola decided that it was time to move back to South Africa and that Cape Town was going to be their new home as Mr & Mrs Fordham. They surely gave themselves a hell of a lotta work to do in such a short space of time but with two determined minds and no stopping, this was all done & dusted in just over 12 months. Sheeww!!
The Wedding planning got underway and they decided that Rain Farm Game Lodge was going to be the chosen venue for their special day. Matthew & Nicola loved the rustic feel of Rain Farm and the fact that it wasnt too far for guests to drive from all over.
Matthew & Nicola set their Wedding date for the 21st November 2015. In January 2015 I took a break and a well deserved holiday to the UK to visit Nicola & Matthew where I was officially asked to be their MC at their Wedding.. What an honour!
I would just like finish off by saying a HUGE Congratulations to Matthew & Nicola!!! We all wish you both the best for the future and all good things to come.
