Tell us how you started your career as a dancer?
Started dance at the age of 3yrs. Was always a hobby & something I loved to do in my spare time. I Continued to Dance throughout my high school years when others would give up. My father wanted me to go to university and pursue a normal career but I had him wrapped round my finger and made him see how I truly loved dance and couldn’t give it up. I went to a vocational Dance college for 3yrs and trained to be a professional dancer. I was lucky to land a contract in Paris, which was the start of my travel bug. I was also lucky to have a career that was my passion and a career that also enabled me to see the world.
What makes you different in the industry?
Now the owner of Front Page Events & Weddings 1st Dance I believe my global experience has helped me stand out from the rest. Experiencing different countries and cultures has really enriched me as a person. The World has been my best education. My professional dancing career has given me a vast insight to a large repertoire of dance styles to suit every wedding couple.
What inspired you to start Weddings First Dance?
I was planning my own wedding and saw that a popular service in the UK wasn’t that readily available in SA. I also had received so many lovely comments after our wedding concerning the Weddings 1st dance that I thought it would be great to make the special moment just as amazing for all couples.
What can future bridal couples expect when booking Weddings First Dance?
I always like to have a consultation with couples before we begin the dance lessons. Its important that the clients like me, my character and trust me and what I do. Confidence builds for the couples through out the lessons ensuring that on their special day they dance amazingly. Covering all issues and queries leading up to the big day. Should couples require advise on song selection I am happy to assist but it always is far more special if the couple select their own song. It means much more to have a story behind the song a memory a special moment. One that will be with them their whole life.
What is your favourite musical artist?
Lady Gaga is one of my favorite’s. Love how crazy she is but also I saw her live at the o2 in London. Oh my word she is a talented musician and a true showman and performer.
Movies or Series??
Series!!!! Crack TV. I cant help but watch a minimum of 4 episodes of Home land in a go at the moment!!!
What is your most memorable dance experience… tell us about it?
My 1st wedding couple!! They wanted to reenact Dirty Dancing’s Time of my life!!! As a dancer this is one of my favorite films. I kept it as much as the original and even made sure they did the famous lift. I was invited to the wedding and cried with joy and pride as I watched them perform their 1st dance. It was so special to watch them 1st hand after the 6 weeks of hard rehearsals and know the journey they had been through to get there.
