Jarryd Sunkel, a prominent Durban & KZN Midlands Wedding DJ, is the proud founder and owner of KZN Wedding DJ. Jarryd is married to his lovely wife, Emma, who manages KZN Wedding DJ’s sister company, Photobooth LAB, Jarryd brings a wealth of experience and passion to his craft.

As a dynamic and dedicated Wedding DJ and Master of Ceremonies, Jarryd specializes in weddings and corporate events. He also provides his expertise for a variety of other celebrations, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and year-end functions. “I began my DJ career in 2003, accumulating 21 years of extensive wedding and dance floor experience. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of contributing to numerous beautiful wedding celebrations. My goal is to keep your guests dancing all night, and I believe I’ve mastered the art of doing just that. I’m known for providing top-quality service in both the wedding and corporate sectors. Additionally, my involvement in Toastmasters competitions has led me to become a professional MC for weddings and corporate events."

Having known Jarryd for a number of years; I knew from the beginning of the wedding planning that Jarryd needed to be the DJ. Once we had him booked, it's an instant relief knowing all the sound and PA systems from ceremony to canapes to reception would be flawless. Where do we even start?! Jarryd and his beautiful wife and assistant, Emma, absolutely crushed it at our wedding at Providence Country Estate on 5 July 2025. We honestly can’t imagine the day without them.

From the moment we first met and chatted with Jarryd, we knew we were in good hands. He just got us — our vibe, our style, our music tastes — and somehow managed to turn all of that into a night that was fun, emotional, and absolutely electric.

The ceremony sound was perfect, speeches went off without a hitch, and the party... wow. The dance floor was on FIRE all night. Jarryd read the room like a pro — mixing old-school classics, new bangers, and those sneaky favourites we didn’t even know we needed.

What really stood out, though, was his energy. Jarryd isn’t just a DJ — he’s a total vibe curator. He made us feel so relaxed and looked after. No stress, no drama, just smooth sailing and good times. The cherry on top for me was being able to get behind the DJ booth for a quick "mock" set!

As an additional touch, we used the photobooth, which Emma managed like a pro. She made all the guests feel super at ease, and the photos were absolutely stunning, capturing all the love and laughter that was the essence of our special day.

So if you’re planning a wedding (or any event really) and want someone who will go above and beyond, hype up your guests, and create an unforgettable atmosphere — Jarryd is your guy. We’re still buzzing from it all!

Five stars don't seem enough for the effort and professionalism that Jarryd and Emma bring to an event. I had an unfortunate situation where my DJ canceled at the last minute, and I called Jarryd to ask if he could assist on short notice, and he didn't hesitate to help. They were quick to set up, and I must add that the setup was spectacular. All the equipment and lighting were beyond awesome and really contributed to an amazing event. Jarryd and Emma definitely bring a great vibe, and they read the room quite well, ensuring everyone enjoys the music and that it matches the theme. I'd give them an 11/10 in every lifetime!

We honestly cannot say enough good things about Jarryd, he was the absolute best DJ we could’ve asked for on our wedding day!

From the very beginning (from months leading up to the wedding), Jarryd was incredibly attentive, helpful, and just so easy to work with. No question was too big or small, he always made time to chat and made us feel like everything was under control. His calm, friendly energy was such a comfort during the planning process, and his professionalism was next level.

On the day of the wedding, Jarryd was nothing short of phenomenal. He made everything run smoothly, from the ceremony to canapes to the dance floor, and we honestly don’t know how we would have managed without him. We may or may not have changed a few ceremony songs just hours before the big moment (sorry again, Jarryd!), but he took it in stride with his usual smile and sense of humour. A true legend.

His set-up was stunning, especially his lighting - it really elevated the whole vibe. The dance floor was packed the entire night, even the bride and groom stayed dancing until the very end! He read the room perfectly and kept the energy alive from the first song to the last.

On top of all of this, Jarryd and Emma were just genuinely wonderful humans. They brought such warmth and joy to our day! Choosing the right DJ can be one of the most stressful parts of planning a wedding — they truly have the power to make or break the whole vibe. That’s why we feel incredibly lucky to have had Jarryd as our DJ. He absolutely exceeded all our expectations!

We recently had the pleasure of having KZN wedding DJ at my friend's wedding, and I can't recommend him enough! From the moment he started playing, the energy was electric. When I attended a wedding on the 1st of February 2025, I was over the moon when I saw who the Bride and Groom had chosen as their DJ for their special day. I knew that this would be a wedding of absolute enjoyment for all.... and that, it most definitely was. Jarryds choice of music was perfect for all age groups who attended.
